Christmas Event!

Nov 28th 2011 – Instead of a formal meeting we will decorate a Christmas tree at the Kirksville Arts Center.

International Club decorated this tree for the Kirksville Art’s
Association’s Festival of Trees event. Businesses and clubs from
within the Kirksville community are invited to participate by
decorating a tree to represent the organization and trees are
auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Kirksville Arts Association
and charities.

Our goal was to represent the diversity of cultures found within
International Club and the Truman State community through figurines,
flags, origami, international candies, and many other items from
around the world!

Our tree and others are available for viewing at the Kirksville Arts
Association from December 4-17!

2011 Big Event

Veni, Vidi, Vici

we Saw, we Came, we Conquered!

Volunteers are getting ready to head out to the jobsite

11 volunteers + a camera + cleaning = BIG ADVENTURE and unforgettable memories

On Saturday March 19, members of International Club and a few friends joined the SERVE Center, along with hundreds of Truman students, to give back to the Kirksville community. The Big Event is an annual affair where students volunteer to help people in the Kirksville with various tasks. Tasks can range anywhere from gardening or picking up trash to cleaning and more. The BIG Event is Truman State University’s way of letting Kirksville know how much the Truman campus appreciates and cares about the community.

This year’s Big Event presented I-Club members with a challenge – moving out trash! As we cleaned, we found many interesting things, including a bat. Check out the pictures from our adventure below!

Thank you to all the volunteers! We appreciate your help and hope that you will join us again next year.
